Meet our owner and winemaker!

After growing up in the Yakima Valley and studying Biomedical Sciences, Miriah discovered her passion for wine when she realized science could be intrinsically applied to winemaking. She began her career as a Lab Tech at a 1.3 million-gallon production facility, later enrolling in the winemaking program at YVC. Her dedication and curiosity quickly led her into a dual role as Enologist and Viticulture Technician, overseeing 1,000 acres of vineyards stretching from Prosser to Walla Walla.

From working with all aspects of sparkling wine, to sun-soaked days on her four-wheeler in the vineyard, and long harvest days on the crush pad, winemaking became more than a career—it became her calling.

Miriah brought her skills and passion to Lake Chelan, where she embraced small-lot winemaking. Along the way, she created a local wine lab, backed by her TTB Wine Chemist certification, and contributed to a popular column, Breaking Ground, for the Washington Wine Commission—featured in Forbes and Good Fruit Grower.

As a founding member of the Alliance of Women in Washington Wine, she helped launch the group from the very office where her wine journey began. She managed the group’s social media during its 2021 debut and continues to support its events. She recently received a scholarship from Women of the Vine&Spirits for continuing education and is studying to become an Italian Wine Scholar. Miriah also volunteers with Seattle Children’s for the beloved Auction of Washington Wines and currently serves on the board of the Washington Wine Technical Group.

Now, all of that experience, energy, and heart has come together in this next chapter—her very own wine. “SCIROCCO”
